Being a Christian can be difficult at times. Life is full of temptations and the Bible has many teachings that are easy to misinterpret. Here we’ll share 11 tips for Christians in their own words, so you don’t have to wonder what the Bible says about certain topics or how it applies to your life.

Tip #1: Read the Bible with an open mind.

11 Tips for Christians in Their Own Words

The Bible is full of stories and teachings that can be difficult to understand. It’s important to read it with an open mind, questioning what you read and trying to apply it to your own life.

Don’t just take things at face value – dig deep into the meaning and message, and ask for guidance if you’re confused.

Tip #2: Only trust the Bible as your source of information.

The only thing that should be trusted when it comes to deciding what’s right or wrong is the Holy Spirit – not outside sources like friends, family members, or religious leaders.

The best way to determine God’s will is to pray and ask for guidance.

Tip #3: Recognize the power of prayer in your life.

11 Tips for Christians in Their Own Words

Prayer is one of the most important tools you have as a Christian, so it’s essential that you practice it regularly. The Bible cautions against neglecting this powerful tool, saying “The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.”

Tip #4: Be forgiving.

One of the most important commandments is to forgive others as God has forgiven you. This doesn’t mean that you have to forget what someone has done or pretend it never happened – but it does mean that you should release the anger, bitterness and resentment you feel.

Remember that we’re all sinners who make mistakes – so be quick to forgive and move on.

Tip #5: Be humble.

“God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble.”

This is one of the most important teachings in all of scripture, and it has a lot to do with how we should conduct ourselves on a daily basis. Albeit one of the most underrated guidelines from the 11 tips for Christians in their own words, this is still essential in living your God-lead life.

If you want to be a true Christian, humility needs to be your foundation – so acknowledge when you’re wrong and don’t try to put yourself above anyone else.

Tip #6: Be loving.

“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you must love one another.”

This is one of the most well-known commandments, and it’s just as important today as it was 2000 years ago.

When we follow this commandment, we’re able to love and accept others for who they are – not for what they do or who you want them to be.

Tip #7: Remember that God’s love is unconditional.

While it’s important to love others, we also need to remember that the highest form of love is from God. His love for us is unconditional and never wavers – even when we make mistakes or disappoint Him.

This is why we should never question God’s love for us, and always remember that He loves us despite our sin.

Even when we’re going through a hard time, God’s love is always present and waiting for us to come back to Him.

Tip #8: Remember that the Bible is a living, breathing Book.

The Bible isn’t just a dusty old book sitting on a shelf in an old church – it’s alive and full of messages that can be applied to our everyday lives.

The Bible is constantly being revealed to different people in various ways, so you never know when God is going to speak through it.

Tip #9: Surround yourself with Christians.

11 Tips for Christians in Their Own Words

A lot of the time we learn about Christianity and how it applies to our everyday lives through other people – so make sure you’re spending time with people that are also striving to be better Christians.

If you have friends who don’t live by the same standards as you, it can be difficult to stay on the right path.

Tip #10: Read the Bible regularly.

This one should go without saying, but if you want to be a strong Christian, you need to read the Bible regularly.

Not only will this help increase your knowledge of scripture and make you a better Christian, but it will also help to strengthen your relationship with God.

Tip #11: Trust in God’s plan for your life.

No matter what you’re going through in life, always remember to trust in God’s plan for your life.

He knows what’s best for you and has a plan that is far better than anything you could imagine.

When we trust in God, we can have faith that everything will work out for us in the end.

These are the 11 tips for Christians in their own words. These are primarily to strengthen their relationship with God. If you want to be a better Christian, following these tips can help. Remember to always rely on God’s grace and love, and be patient as you continue to grow in your faith.
