When it comes to the topic of violence, the Bible has a great deal to say. Unfortunately, many people do not know what the Bible teaches about this issue. Some people think that the Bible condones violence, while others believe that it forbids it. In reality, the Bible takes a balanced approach to this complex topic. In this blog post, we will explore what the Bible has to say about violence and examine its teachings on this important subject.

What Does the Bible Say About Violence?

The Bible begins with the story of Creation. In this opening chapter, God creates the world and sets forth His laws for His people. One of these laws is the commandment not to kill. From the very beginning, God has made it clear that violence is not His will for humanity.

Despite this, violence has been a part of human history since the Fall. When Adam and Eve sinned, they introduced death and violence into the world. As a result, humanity has been plagued by violence ever since.

The Bible does not shy away from this reality. Throughout its pages, we see stories of violence and war. In the Old Testament, we read about how God led the Israelites to conquer the Promised Land. In the New Testament, we see how Jesus Christ was crucified by the Roman authorities.

While the Bible does not condone violence, it also does not condemn it outright. Instead, the Bible offers a balanced approach to this complex issue. On one hand, we are told that violence is not the will of God. On the other hand, we see that violence can be used for righteous purposes.

Final Thoughts

The Bible teaches us that violence is a reality of this fallen world. However, we also see that God is still in control. In the end, His justice will prevail. This hope gives us the strength to continue fighting against violence even in the darkest of times.
